Sins and Stripes

We are going to need a bigger boat carpark

Now in its third year sins and stripes is fast outgrowing its home in the centre of Horley, and at last I made it having heard nothing but good things about the event, and I can see why now. But maybe I shouldn’t tell you as I would like to keep this as a hidden gem.

I have no reason why it had such a great atmosphere, but it had just the most laid back and relaxed feeling with smiles everywhere.

With a superb selection of bikes, cars and music it’s a fabulous way to spend a sunny late summer Sunday.

Organised by Seven Sins Tattoo and Nefarious with a few volunteers it certainly brought the town alive, also free to enter with requests for donations to charity .

By the time I arrived space was already at a premium, but parking was well organised and so they still managed to fit in a few more American behemoths.

And it didn’t matter what style of bike you preferred there was probably one of your liking there and with a public vote the award went to Mick and his Harley FXR with the black and gold which sparkled in the sun well deserved, I rather fell for the red Vespa, but then red is my colour this year. People’s choice of cars was a 1950 dodge convertible, my personal choice was the red necked truck car thing which drew a huge crowd.

There were various bands Borrowed Time, Sin Kings, Sweet Revenge and Send Her Mental, but I have to say I was too busy chatting to really notice, but that also meant they weren’t  bad either.

I had a drool over Micks Suzuki chop which he was given free, and he has fettled back to life, blue, low, bit rusty, with dodgy dexion guards it’s obvious how much fun he has been having by the ever present smile.im not jealous of him really. And then Dave arrived on his stonking pretty triumph T120 with paint by Sickboys and lots of other cool touches, i am sure he said it was only going to be a makeover not a full on build.

As ever i bumped into loads of folk I know also, my poor understanding wife is used now to the 3 paces and photograph, 3 paces and say hello routine now.

But now there is a need for a larger venue, but I really hope that it can keep this magical feeling that this years had
